Cleaning Process
Clean Roof Solutions uses a soft-wash cleaning process to restore the beauty and functionality to the surfaces being cleaned. Soft wash is the use of a solution that breaks down algae, lichens, and moss followed with a rinse of standard water hose pressure of 60 psi instead of the use of a pressure washer.
Increased Black Algae
In the last 20 years, there has been a significant increase of black algae growth on shingles. This increase has been caused by shingle manufacturers installing limestone, a food source for algae, as a filler in their shingles. Clean Roof Solutions uses the safest method for eliminating this algae from shingles. Not only does this cleaning process enhance the visual appeal of the shingles, it can extend the life of the shingle. When algae, lichens, and moss begin to grow on shingles, they loosen the granules on the shingles which are in place to protect the shingle from UV rays. Once the granules have fallen off, the UV rays are able to penetrate the shingles and begin to disintegrate them.
